A Word from Father Chuck

It’s Official….I’m Part of Your Team !!!

In my file cabinet filled with important documents I recently placed my new assignment declaration letter sent from +Bishop Paprocki assigning me to both St. Anthony Parish, Effingham and St. Mary (Annunciation) Parish, Shumway. I have all of my official assignments from 1984 till now. This weekend makes it official. This is a wonderful time to be able to join the parish staff and come to pastor this wonderful flock. I pretty much feel my Christmas has come early. I feel blessed for this opportunity God is giving me in answer to your prayers and mine. This is going to be fun. This is going to be joy filled. This is going to be hope filled. We are going to make a difference together as a parish family in this community and as leaders in our diocese. After not having Christmas Midnight Mass for the past two years I look forward to celebrating the Christmas Season with our wonderful parish family. It will be so good to see our parish in prayer at its best. These four weeks of preparation will give way to the joyful cries of the heavenly host and choirs of angels announcing Christ has come to make his dwelling within the manger of our own hearts. We sing once again ….. “Joy to the World.” As I offer Mass at all the Masses but especially at the Midnight Mass I will remember each of you in my prayers and ask God’s choicest blessings come upon your homes and hearts. Where will you be this Christmas? There will be many gatherings we can go attend and celebrate with loved ones. The rectory is Fr. Ron’s and my home but also know you can come by over Christmas so please don’t stay home alone. Thanks to all who have helped my transition go so smooth. Thanks to all who helped me move my belongings “Back Home” to the rectory at St. Anthony’s. It is again good to be home. On behalf of Fr. Ron, Fr. Carl, Deacon Joe (Pat), and our entire parish staff, ………we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, 2018.

Peace, FR. CHUCK
